LEARN Teacher Appreciation

Quebec teachers, you’ve been working hard! Please know that all of your hard work is paying off.  Parents, colleagues, administration, and most importantly, your students, see and appreciate the extra time and effort that you put in every single day… including weekends.

A word that I enjoy, and like to use, is sticktoitiveness. It means perseverance and tenacity. As educators, we don't want our students to give up easily as soon as they start to experience difficulty, and we have to model that for them.

We’ve all heard the advice that if we find a job that we love, we’ll never really work a day in our lives. The Québec educators highlighted in this first of three blog posts in the fourth annual Teacher and School Staff Appreciation shout-outs clearly show their love for their students and for their chosen profession. Valentine’s Day must be coming because love is certainly in the air!

One of the themes that has emerged from the submitted shout-outs this year is celebrating the collective, the entire staff, the team that works together (and with the community) to support student success.  GO TEAM!!

The Quebec educators highlighted below have all earned high marks from those who wrote shout-outs including words like awesome, best, very, great, always, priceless, extraordinary, and exceptional.  WOW!!!

Enjoy this first of three blog posts with messages of appreciation written by students, parents, colleagues, and commissioners. I thought that this first post should be kicked off with a student’s recognition that all of her teachers are there to help!

It’s clear that the teachers highlighted in this second of three Teacher and School Staff Appreciation posts in our 2016 series (read part one here) are passionate about their job and love their students, too!

I know that reading these shout-outs made me smile, and even laugh out loud… Happy Teacher Appreciation, Quebec educators!  Keep smiling; it’s motivating your students!

It’s incredibly humbling to read about the contributions these educators have made to the lives of individual students, to their classes, as mentors, and as leaders in their communities.

We didn’t receive one thousand thank yous, but we did get a lot.  We continue with part two of our three part series, with more amazing messages of appreciation for educators across our province.

To celebrate and say thank you, this week on the LEARN blog we are thrilled to highlight not just one, but many amazing educators in our Quebec schools.
